9 Iron Bunker Shot

Long Bunker Shot
Selecting the right club for your bunker shot requires some thought, especially if you have to carry the ball a long distance.

Club Selection
On long bunker shots, use a 9 iron with your normal bunker swing to carry the ball further than you could with a traditional wedge.

The Result
The ball will travel ¾ of the way there and run out a bit on the green. You won’t have to swing as hard to get the ball to travel.

  1. I have a tendency to slice the ball and cannot figure out what I ‘m doing wrong. Do you have a good golf tip/video for helping me correct it. I am a right handed golfer in my 60’s.

    Thank you.
