I just returned from another trip to the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana, and had the opportunity to re-visit and play Cap Cana Golf Club (a Jack Nicklaus design). I’m convinced that it should take its rightful place among the world’s elite courses. The beauty is over-the-top as every hole either borders the ocean or has a direct view of the water. From tee to green, it’s just breathtaking and, needless to say, provides a welcome respite from an occasionally frustrating shot or two! In my mind it is one of Nicklaus’ best designs.
The golf course stretches over 7,000 yards and is considered a very fair test of golf for all levels of play. Although I didn’t shoot a personal best, I felt comfortable on this tract and played some very solid golf that was complimented by excellent greens and fair weather. The Dominican is just an awesome place to vacation and certainly has something for everyone in the family. You should check it out!
