Swing Foundation: Lesson #6
Learn The ONE Indicator That Determines If Your Takeway Is Fundamentally Sound Or Headed For Another Disaster Shot!
Welcome back! This is the sixth of seven lessons I’ve prepared for you about the fundamentals you’ll need before learning the two steps to a perfect golf swing. If you missed my last lesson, you can find it by clicking here.
Today, I’d like to show you how to create the Imaginary L. The important thing to realize about the Imaginary L is that it is THE indicator that your takeaway is fundamentally sound. It shows that your arms hang from your shoulders at the proper angle and that your arms are apart at the correct distance.
This means that you have established not only wrist cock, but also one of the absolutes of the golf swing: width.
In fact if you take just one teaching point, one key aspect of this entire mini-clinic into the rest of your golfing days, make it the Imaginary L!
First, create the proper setup position, making sure your stance, grip, and ball position are correct.
When you take your stance, your hands are directly in front of your belt buckle.
From this your setup, work the wrist to the right to create an “imaginary L” between the left arm and the shaft of the club.
Turn your shoulders back and maintain the L, making the left arm parallel to the ground.
